IMG is proud to announce “Proximus Stars on Ice” for the fourth consecutive year. On Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th of November 2006 a unique post-Olympic figure skating gala will be organized in the Sportpaleis of Antwerp, Belgium.

In 2006 the city of Torino, Italy, hosted the Olympic Winter Games. For the 2006 edition of “Proximus Stars on Ice” IMG decided to re-create the Olympic spirit by gathering some of the medallists of the last Winter Games. The couple Navka / Kostomarov, won everything for the past few years. Gold medallist at the 2006 Olympic games of Torino but also two times world- and European champions. Also present, Irina Slutskaya, winner of two Olympic medals (Bronze in 2006 and silver in 2002), but also two times world champion and seven times European champion! Together with other champions, they will star on the ice!

For the first time in Belgium these stars will reveal to the Sportpaleis audience some of the numbers they performed during the last Winter Olympics. This year our Belgian star Kevin van der Perren, will be the ambassador of this unique post-Olympic show. Kevin finished 9th in the overall ranking during the last Winter Olympics. A wonderful performance making Kevin the first Belgian athlete to obtain this result in the history of the Olympic Winter Games.
